2011-12 Cruising Season

There's a request for help bringing a "bunk-full" of Mini computers and flat screen to a new school being built just 80 miles north of the Rio. Anyone willing to help bring these down from Florida to the Rio this Fall please contact SeaCat thru the Talk feature in this Wiki. There is also an opportunity for a tech savvy teacher once these computers arrive at the school. The school will come to the Rio to transport the computers once they arrive.

2010-11 Cruising Season

Several anonymous contributors have helped with adding and editing entries. Keep it up. Anyone can contribute, so have at it and tell your "buddy boats".

SPOT GPS Messenger

Expectations just traveled north from the Rio to Florida using the new SPOT GPS Messenger unit which posts your track on the internet and will send email messages to your contact list each time you press a button on the unit enroute. Check out David's website (link to his SPOT location near bottom) or the SPOTwebsite

Medical article page

Damiana has posted his Tech Talk on his Medical Problems and Medication presentation. Check it out, it covers common and uncommon medical problems and medications that cruisers might want to have on board or use.

Cruisers input needed

Especially for Guatemala, Mexico and Belize

Give it a try yourself, before you forget!

This wiki is a volunteer effort to track information of interest to Cruisers in the NW Caribbean cruising grounds. Of primary importance is health, safety and weather resources by country and island. And hopefully resources for general interest: such as Check-in procedures, importation of animals, sources for supplies and materials. See sample Distress Incident Form for tracking a Radio Emergency

What's needed - Volunteers

Cruisers (or folks familiar with cruising) based in each of the four main Cruising Grounds (Yucatan of Mexico, Belize, Guatemala and Honduras) of the NW Caribbean. You can be a cruiser living on a boat either at anchor, a marina or dock, or maybe a land based site. Internet access would be the prime requirement followed by motivation to keep the information current and updated.

General outline has been established (for better or worse ) as a starting place. If you have something to add, correct or contribute. Just jump in and give it a whirl.
